After the success of the HOH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgMC9YLQS2M”>float and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gt19RBLnHCE”>booth at last year’s Houston Pride Festival, we’ve decided to do it again this year! And to help cover the costs of the booth and float as well as all of our promotional materials that we’ll be giving away, we’re having a special http://www.meetup.com/humanism-177/events/230202202/”>Fundraiser Dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse on Saturday April 30th, which will feature special guests and LGBT activists http://ashtonpwoods.strengthinnumbershouston.com/”>Ashton P. Woods, http://nikkiaraguz.com/”>Nikki Araguz Loyd, http://www.houstonpress.com/news/get-a-sneak-preview-of-a-kick-ass-documentary-on-gay-activist-ray-hill-6710920″>Ray Hill, http://www.weareproudpony.com/”>Jarrod Gullet, and http://www.travisjohns.com/”>Travis Johns, as well as a screening of https://vimeo.com/88120666″>The Trouble with Ray documentary and a raffle with an eclectic selection of art, wine, and other interesting items! http://humanistsofhouston.org/ways-to-donate/”>Tickets are just $30 (includes dinner) and all proceeds go directly to supporting HOH.

We’re only a few team members away from being able to field a team for https://www.imgh.org/events/event/616-operation-impact”>Operation Impact, a http://www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/”>Meals on Wheels program to provide a week’s supply of food to homebound senior citizens for hurricane/emergency preparedness. Can you attend the http://www.meetup.com/humanism-177/events/228644749/”>HOH Monthly Gathering on May 21st (where we’ll have the food packages), then help deliver them to the designated senior citizens by May 24th? If so, please see the HOH meetup event http://www.meetup.com/humanism-177/events/230353331/”>HERE for further details and to join the team.

We’ve recently had some fake accounts join the HOH meetup in order to send solicitations to HOH members through direct messages. If you receive any such messages (or any messages of an inappropriate nature) please let us know at humanistsofhouston@yahoo.com so we can address them ASAP.

Does the company you work for have a charitable contribution matching program? If so, you might be able to have them match any donations you’ve made to HOH, in part or in full. While some company programs have restrictions on the types of organizations that can be matched, we know that at least some will match employee donations to HOH (we’ve confirmed that AT&T is one of them).

Are you a small business owner who would like to support HOH? All HOH patrons (members who donate $20/month via Paypal, or $200/year) are recognized as “Sponsors” on the main HOH Meetup page as a small gesture of appreciation for their support, and small businesses (subject to approval) are also eligible for the same. We can even include a link to your business on the HOH Meetup page, as well as on our website. To do so simply sign up to become a Patron at the following link, and provide your information in the form:
